Hello again, everyone! Designer, Emily Adams, shares her ‘looking on Pinterest for inspiration’ technique with us. It’s a good one, so keep reading.
Hey it’s Emily and I’m back with another Technique Tuesday for you!
Do you ever go on Pinterest for inspiration and then scroll for a second and then 2 hours have passed? Yeah, me neither. *wink* BUT I did go on Pinterest and look up mood boards to get some inspiration for this layout. I wanted to document our ride on Big Thunder Mountain from our trip to Disneyland Paris 2020. The dominant colors in my photo are brown, gray, and green so I typed in “mood board brown gray green”. My results included color palettes, pretty photos, and some mood boards. After I got inspired, then it was time to go shopping in my stash! I flipped through my paper selections and found literally the PERFECT patterned paper for my layout! This paper has all of my inspiration colors plus pink and blue. I love it!

I used three different sets of Thickers for my title to make it bold and stand out. I also used a few stickers and a die cut but the cutest things I used are from Scraps and Ink Crafts!
‘Pastel Gingham’ small padded appliques
I thought the gingham padded applique Mickeys were super fun for this layout. I chose the orangey-brown and yellow Mickeys. I added a little brown bow from Bows & Crowns set #1.
Since the stickers and die cut have some red in them, I chose a red washi from the EPCOT Flower and Garden set from Scraps and Ink Crafts. It also has a little bit of yellow in it. I scattered that washi in 3 places around my layout.

I hope my Pinterest mood board tip has inspired you to make a fun layout!
If you create a layout, I’d love for you to show it off in the Disney Creative Company Facebook group or tag us on Instagram!
Thanks, Emily. What a great technique!
From all of us here at DCC, have a magical day!
