Thanks for joining us on the blog today! We’re so lucky that Emily created this wonderful scrapbook page using a Scraplifting technique for Technique Tuesday. Read about her design process and see all the cute things from our sister site, Scraps & Ink Crafts. Enjoy!

Sometimes you don’t have a lot of time but you’re feeling the urge to be creative. During times like this, one of my favorite scrapbook techniques is to scraplift a fabulous layout that another crafter has already made! Let’s face it–sometimes you see a layout and wish you had thought of it first, or someone tried something you’ve been thinking about trying…either way, scraplifting is a fun and quick way to get a layout created! I adore the layouts my fellow design team member Jackie makes – I MEAN THEY’RE GORGEOUS! – and I decided to put my own twist on one she created in May. Here’s her original layout.

I LOVE THIS PLACE by Jackie Ashton

One easy way to change the look of a scraplift is to change up the colors used in the layout. It’s fall here in East Tennessee and the leaves are changing and I just want to do ALL THE FALL THINGS! I recently found a new paper pack – it isn’t fall themed at all, but does have some fall colors. I’ve been wanting to make some more Animal Kingdom layouts, and realized this paper pad went well with a photo I took of the Tam Tam Drummers.

TAM TAM by Emily Adams

I chose my paper based on the colors in the photo. I added some blue paper from my stash to bring in the color of the sky and the bottom of the stage. The yellow outfits of the drummers gave me lots of options for incorporating yellow and orange. The green of the trees brought in some more color.

‘Falling For You’ padded appliques

Did I mention I love all the fall things?! I couldn’t wait to use the ‘Falling for You’ padded applique set! The ‘Warm Fuzzy’ set would have worked well too!

‘Pride Lands’ printed acrylics

This ‘Africa’ embellishment from the ‘Pride Lands’ acrylic set was perfect since these drummers perform in the Harambe, Africa section of Animal Kingdom. I love all the entertainers in this section of the park.

‘Precious Metals’ padded appliques

‘Wooden Mice’

And would a layout of mine be complete without some cute Mickey embellishments? Of course not! I chose a beautiful brown Mickey from the ‘Precious Metals’ padded applique set and a wooden Mickey. Too cute!

Thanks, Emily! We love your scraplifted scrapbook page!
