I’m pleased to show you Natalie’s beautiful scrapbook page for Today’s Sketchy Sunday. Enjoy!
It’s Sketch Sunday, and I’m taking an 8.5’x11″sketch from the Disney Creative Co. library and using it with a pocket page!
I had more photos that I wanted to include from my daughter’s meet and greet with Cinderella when we went to Walt Disney World in 2016. Meeting the princesses was one of the priorities for her and one of the highlights for us to watch, so we have a lot of special photos. This pocket page will face the layout I made for another DCC sketch challenge featuring my two favorite photos from the interaction. That layout has the journaling, so I didn’t include more here.
I’m using an 8.5″x11″ pocket page protector with four 5.5″x4″ vertical spaces, which is a perfect fit for Sketch #106!
Disney Creative Co Sketch #106
One benefit of doing this sketch in a pocket page format meant that I could create my four sections and rearrange them until I was happy with their placement! As you can see, I did a bit of a mirror image with the sketch: I put the wreath+title in the top left corner, because it looked better with the facing page in that position.
‘Sparkle’ by Natalie Strand
I layered a ‘Mouse Circle‘ die cut under a portion of a floral cut file to capture the wreath effect from the sketch. To make my title stand out, I adhered it to a label and then ran a strip of glitter tape from the ‘Princess Cinderella’ washi set to emphasize it more. If you know anything about me, you know that I love the mouse-shaped ‘Sparkle Gems‘, so of course I added one as a finishing touch to the title!
I repeated elements of this feature cluster around the rest of the sections of the page.
Combining a sketch with a set of supplies inspired by the facing page made this layout come together so quickly!
