Are you getting sick of Halloween yet? Me neither! In fact, give me all the spooky, scary (or not-so-scary) Halloween things!

I LOVE this holiday and all of the colorful and whimsical fun it brings- especially Disney’s version! And if you’ve been in any of the Disney parks during Halloween, then you’ve seen some pretty magical things you can only see during the season that begins at Disney right around when school starts and runs ’til October 31st. From adorably-themed treats to limited edition pins and merch, from special ride overlays to the spectacular castle and firework show! It’s definitely something everyone should experience at least once in their life. So, either you’re a fan, or we need to have a serious conversation!

Do you know who else is a BIG fan of Halloween? Our very own Michelle Sinclair. 🙂 We LOVE her photo of the eerie Halloween castle projections! She chose Sketch #112 from our DCC Sketch Library as a good starting point for her page.

“Not So Spooky” by Michelle Sinclair

Michelle closely followed the left side of the sketch with it’s prominent vertical border strip. Notice how the border strip carries the most  visual “weight” of the sketch? Michelle recreated this “weight” by focusing the majority of her embellishment clusters down a lime green star patterned paper strip on the left side of her page.

Rather than using 5 much smaller 3″ x 3″ photos like in the sketch, Michelle chose to use one large photo. Since there are no hard and fast rules to using sketches, and they are simply a “jumping off” point for your own creativity, it’s always easy to adapt them just like Michelle did!

Michelle chose to accent her page with the ever-popular Printed Acrylics from the Boo To You! and Gone Batty sets found at our sister site- Scraps & Ink Crafts.

Can you spot the Sparkle Mouse Gems peeking out from behind her layered papers and other accents? So cute! Michelle used two black gems from the Classic Collection and one dark purple gem from the Jewelry Box Collection.

We truly hope that Michelle’s page has inspired you to use a sketch as a quick and easy starting point for your own pages and projects.
