Hope everyone is having a great day! I’m excited to share a fabulous page by Jackie for our “Sketch Sunday” feature. This is one of my favorite recurring articles we do here on the DCC blog because I love to see what elements from the sketch each designer uses, and which elements they completely change up! And…not gonna lie…I simply love looking at everyone’s fun photos from Disney!
Sketch #107 12″ x 12″
“Dance” by Jackie Ashton
Right off the bat I am drawn to the upper left corner of the page and Jackie’s use of the Stitched Mouse and Mouse Circles die cuts.
These are, by far, the most popular cutting dies sold in our Scraps & Ink Crafts sister Etsy site! They truly are the most versatile dies and the fact that they both come in sets of different sizes means that you get way more bang for your buck!
Check out how Jackie added a few Precious Metals Padded Appliques layered with the clusters on her page. These thin, lightly padded embellishments add just the right amount of “bling” to help showcase her amazing photos of the iconic castle and stage show! So fun! Their sparkly glitter finish really takes the whole page up a notch by adding dimension without the bulk.
I spy some machine sewing on Jackie’s page! Her stitching matches well with the “faux stitching” perforations of the Stitched Mouse die cuts.
Thanks for another beautiful and inspiring layout, Jackie!
Do you love using the sketches as much as we do? Check out our Sketches Library for both 12″ x 12″ and 8.5″ x 11″ sizes and use them as inspiration for your next page or project.
