Hello, my friends! I’m so excited to be able to write about Jackie’s Sketchy Sunday scrapbook page. I can totally relate to her style and how she interpreted this sketch.
She used sketch #119 from our website to showcase a few of the photographs from her trip in July.
Toy Story Parade by Jackie Ashton
Jackie kept things pretty close to the original sketch. You’ll notice that she used three pictures just like the sketch did. She also used a star patterned paper in the background and a piece of colored paper that looks like it’s been torn from a spiral binder, just like it shows on the sketch. I love the title tag, “Toy Story Parade”, which she placed to the left of her photographs – modifying the sketch to reflect her style. Nice!
Jackie didn’t use the large silhouette characters like the sketch did, instead she balanced her page beautifully with embellishment clusters using a few items from our sister site, Scraps and Ink Crafts. Here is a closer look at the ‘precious metals’ padded appliques and ‘sparkle gems’ facets.
The sketch has a curved element to the right of the photographs and Jackie absolutely made the right decision to use the ‘viewfinder reel’ metal cutting die to incorporate that curved element. It’s textural, brings interest, and is perfect!
I also like how Jackie tucked a little bit of journaling on the bottom right just like the sketch did. Overall, it’s a beautiful scrapbook page.
Nicely done, Jackie!
