A little bit of ‘jungle’, a little bit of ‘whimsy’, and a whole lot of good, watery fun! That’s what I was trying to convey through this page about our trip down Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom with our family/friends. I used lots of layers made with patterned paper, a variety of die cut leaves, flower stickers and real wood accents to create my three main clusters.

That wood “slice” is just so adorable so knew I had to use it! It matches the woodgrain patterned paper on the left side of the page perfectly. A bit of hidden journaling about the ride was written on the tag and tucked behind the top photograph.

Besides the leaves and woodgrain to create an “outdoorsy” feel, I also wanted to add some sort of water element. I hand-cut some large curls out of a teal patterned paper and tucked them behind my photos to create a bit of a wave or “splash” effect. The little woodgrain hearts and blue paint/ink splatters also convey movement of the water element.
