Hi everyone! When creating this page, I wanted to keep the focus on this gorgeous photo with the bright pink flowers in the foreground. I felt like I needed to keep the number of colors minimal using only blues pulled from the blue skies and pinks from the flowers. The wood-grain paper along the top and bottom reminds me of walking along the boardwalk and serves as a visual stopping point to redirect the eye back to the photo with the vertically running slats.

After using my electronic cutter (Silhouette Cameo) to cut the title, I wanted it to appear very airy and light, so I used tiny pieces of foam mounting tape to “lift” it off the page.

I distressed and inked the edges of the woodgrain patterned paper to give it a more realistic, dimensional appearance. I started doing this to woodgrain patterned paper I was using years ago, and it is still one of my favorite techniques. It’s just a little detail that doesn’t take much time, but I feel has a big impact.

Now aren’t you craving Dole Whips! I know I am! Thanks for stopping by!
