Hi everyone! When creating this page, I wanted to keep the focus on this gorgeous photo with the bright pink flowers in the foreground. I felt like I needed to keep the number of colors minimal using only blues pulled from the blue skies and pinks from the flowers. The wood-grain paper along the top and bottom reminds me of walking along the boardwalk and serves as a visual stopping point to redirect the eye back to the photo with the vertically running slats.
After using my electronic cutter (Silhouette Cameo) to cut the title, I wanted it to appear very airy and light, so I used tiny pieces of foam mounting tape to “lift” it off the page.
I used a technique called “stamping off” for my little phrase “aren’t you lovely?” After stamping the sentiment with black ink, I continued stamping in a random pattern until no ink remained on the stamp. This creates a faded, gaussian effect that I just love!
Give this technique a try with your own sentiment stamps, and I know you’ll love it, too. Don’t forget to share your finished project with us in our gallery!
