Although January is almost over, we couldn’t let it go without one final challenge to finish up the very first month of the new year! And it’s our brand new feature that we will be adding to our monthly challenges- Cut Files!

What’s better than an adorable Disney-themed cut file? An adorable Disney-themed cut file that has been made exclusively for our new feature here at Disney Creative Co. by our very own Design Team Member- Vicki Von Richter.

Vicki was sweet enough to create this fun cut file that we are simply in LOVE with! I’m seriously thinking this could be used on every single one of my scrapbook pages!

“CIRCLES BACKGROUND” by Vicki Von Richter:

How CA-UTE!!!!

Of course, the Design Team really ran “circles” around this one! (Get it? “Circles?” HA!) Let’s see what the Team created for this challenge:

“Ready to Splash!” by Lacey Robin:

Oh how we love Lacey’s page that’s just “dripping” with watery fun! Lacey placed the cut file on an angle over the top of her UH-mazing watercolor background for a different look. The gorgeous aqua makes the white cut file just pop!

Check out these details! Lacey traced inside several of her circles in a random pattern to create visual interest. LOVE that!

Lacey’s technique of tearing the cut file in various places totally reminds us of popped bubbles! She really made a splash with this page!

“50th Ears” by Emily Adams:

We’re pretty sure we just found the next head of the glam squad!

Emily totally captured the gorgeous blue and pink EAR-idescence of the colors in MAGIC KINGDOM’s 50th Anniversary Celebration with this page! And might we add she looks simply MAHvelous in those mouse ears, daHling!

Oooh, shiny! We LOVE how she used the cut file in contrasting aqua and pink paper accented with shimmery gold touches to take her page from lovely to LUXE!

Those totally glam sequin and glitter padded appliques from Scraps & Ink Crafts- swoon!!!

“Magic Adventure” by Michelle Sinclair:

We are totally loving the party vibe we’re getting with Michelle’s colorful page. The wide diagonal striped paper she used for her cut file looks amazing against the solid blue background!

Glittery Mouse padded appliques in candy pink and butter yellow tucked behind the photos makes us smile! Of course, here at DCC we totally agree with this sentiment also tucked under the photo: “dream BIG”!

Oh my stars! We just can’t get enough of Michelle’s unique and whimsical style. Sparkly Genie puffy sticker? Yes, please!

“Packing” by Natalie Strand

Clean lines and contrasting colors in Natalie’s pocket page really allows each element and photograph to stand out.

The bold, black circles with pops of red and yellow are eye-catching, but do not overwhelm her photos because each is neatly contained in its own pocket.

This allows the eye to rest on one space and take in all the details before moving onto the next.

Natalie used this clever fold-over technique to hide her journaling under one of her photos. This is a great way to include additional information or add more photos.

“Happy Food” by Vicki Von Richter

Who better to finish up this week’s Design Team projects than the talented creator of the cut file herself- Vicki Von Richter!

Like Lacey, Vicki also created a watercolor background, and her multi-color technique looks simply delicious with the contrasting dark cut file image placed over the top!

Of course, the tiny resin food accents from Scraps & Ink Crafts make us totally hungry for Disney treats and the denim blue padded applique is a perfect finishing touch for Vicki’s page about her son enjoying a yummy treat at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Now it’s your turn to play along for your chance to win authentic Disney merchandise:

Use this Cut File to create something truly magical and “Disney-inspired.” Participants will have until the end of the month to complete the challenge and upload it to the gallery and forum to receive one entry into the monthly drawing.

As always, even though we are a “tad” partial to scrapbooking, we also love to see a variety of craft projects, so sky’s the limit on what you can create for this challenge!

For more detailed instructions on how to participate visit the FORUM.

Deadline to enter is Friday, February 4th 11:59 PM (MDT).

Good luck and have a magical day!
