Hello, and happy Friday!! Natalie
here to share a pocket page layout for this week’s Cut File Friday feature. It’s not always my first thought to use a cut file in a pocket page, but they’re actually such a great way to include extra details. Let me show you what I made this time!
This 6×12 pocket insert tells the story of our ride on Spaceship Earth during our 2016 trip to WDW. The photos I used don’t show the famous outside view of the ride, so I turned to a Disney Creative Co. cut file to include the iconic sphere!
Because I was using cut files to embellish this page, I was able to cut multiple sizes to try out and see which was the best fit and still show off my photos and story. I tried out a couple sizes of the Spaceship Earth
file and settled on about 3.75″ wide as the best fit. I backed the circle portion with vellum to help it stand out against the background but still allow the starry pattern to be visible. Speaking of multiple sizes, I also cut three different sizes of the Starburst
design to scatter around my page as the perfect retro/sci-fi embellishment. I was amazed that it cut so well–I used a sharp blade, AC white cardstock, and a good mat, and I was able to cut from 2.6″ wide to1.4″ wide and have perfect results!
When my pocket page is telling one story, I like to have elements that span more than one pocket to show that everything is connected. I used the tiniest starburst to accent my title, which is underlined with the fantastic astronaut washi tape from the EPCOT set and punctuated with a light blue facet!
Thank you so much for stopping by and looking at this cut file project! We’d love to see how you use these (or any other!) cut files from the Disney Creative Co. collection! Tag us on social media so that we can come see that magic you make!
From all of us here at DCC, have a magical day!
