It’s Color Palette Saturday! Which means, one of our Designers has created a project which incorporates colors taken from some of the images Owner, Nancy Burke, has taken on her many trips to Disney World. Today, the colors are taken from Disney’s best friend, Mickey!
DCC Color Magic Palette #106
Designer, Jackie Ashton, used Color Magic Palette #106 for the color inspiration on her “What’s so Funny!” scrapbook page. Do you see Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa playing at the bottom of her photograph? It’s a “Magic Shot” courtesy of one of the Disney Photopass photographers. They’re so fun!

After the fun photograph, the first thing I noticed about Jackie’s page were the cut outs of Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa below her photograph. She used Scraps & Ink Crafts ‘Simba & Friends’ metal cutting die using three different printed papers to give them some differentiation, all the while staying true to the color palette. They look like they’re just playing along the bottom of the page, which is perfect!

Jackie also made a cluster of mouse heads using colored papers and a little sparkle gem, also from our Sister site, Scraps & Ink Crafts.

If you look in between ‘Simba & Friends‘ and the mouse cluster you will see a circle with little mouse heads all the way around. Jackie used the ‘Mouse Circles’ metal cutting die – another product from Scraps & Ink Crafts. There is also another cluster at the top of the photograph, bringing it all together.

I want to make note of a few things you may not have seen right away.
First, did you see the little peekaboos of color on the top and left side of the page? Jackie cut out just a little bit of a curve, distressed the edges, and added a pop of color. It looks great!
Second, there is a little bit of velum cut with the ‘Mouse Background’ metal cutting die from Scraps & Ink Crafts tucked just to the right of her photograph. I always love it when the Designers use this die cut to toss in another Disney-inspired element!

Overall, it’s another successful use of a DCC Color Magic Palette!
