Oh how I love Christmas in July! I can listen to my favorite holiday music while sitting outside in a lounge chair wearing shorts and flipflops. It’s truly the best of both seasons and I highly recommend giving it a try! Your neighbors will think you’ve gone mad, but just wave and wish them a “Merry Christmas!”

The “best of both” is a theme we’re sharing with this month’s awesome sketch:

DCC Sketch 118

See the rows of layered circles below the photo spots? Think either sparkly Christmas ornaments or…..perhaps beach balls for a summery page?

No matter which you prefer for your own pages, the Design Team really got into the holiday spirit for their own Christmas in July assignments.

“Delightful Décor” by Natalie Strand

Natalie used BOTH of the best-selling Stitched Mouse and Mouse Circles metal cutting die sets from our Etsy shop- Scraps & Ink Crafts- for her circles and layered accents. She added even more dimension by embellishing the circles with festive foil-accented Christmas Washi, glittery printed Mini Christmas Bits, and a sparkly red Padded Applique. ‘Delightful Décor’ indeed!

“Hello Santa Goofy!” by Heather Ribble

We LOVE Heather’s photos with her son! Such a cutie!

Have you seen the gang when they are all dressed up in their Santa outfits? Heather was lucky enough to grab this fun pic with Goofy. He’s a definite fave, especially when you can use a matching adorable Silicone Embellishment from Scraps & Ink Crafts with your photos!

Heather also used the Ho Ho Ho Cutting Die and Christmas Washi from the Etsy shop for pops of green on her cheery blue background.

“Dreams Come True On Main Street” by Michelle Sinclair

I don’t know about you, but I love the pink background Michelle used! So festive and fun! For each circle in the sketch, Michelle created perfect little layered clusters of fun embellishments, including the new Printed Acrylic Embellishments from Scraps & Ink Crafts. The gold foil pattern on the Christmas Washi add just the right amount of shimmer to the page.

“Magical” by Vicki Von Richter

Vicki went with a more subtle winter woodland look for her page by using soft greens, plaids, woodgrain and vintage prints.

She punctuates these vintage prints beautifully with traditional red sparkly Facets from Scraps & Ink Crafts for just a bit of subtle shimmer.

“Disney Christmas” by Lacey Robin

Lacey interpreted the sketch in her own unique way by using circles for her entire background. What a great idea!

Can you believe that Lacey didn’t just use 1 or 2 cutting dies on her page, but FOUR? She created page accents using the Ho Ho Ho, Peppermint Mouse, Merry Christmas and Mouse Lights Cutting Dies in traditional green and red.  She finished off her page by adding Mini Christmas Bits and a cute Mickey Santa Printed Acrylic Embellishment.

“Believe in Magic” by Emily Adams

Last but definitely NOT least, Emily created this fabulous page to capture the stunning projection show on Cinderella’s Castle. We LOVE Emily’s pops of vibrant colors and patterns- just like the iconic castle itself.

Emily created her colorful circles from strips of Christmas Washi on cardstock. We love this technique and it looks great on many different silhouette shapes. She also couldn’t’ resist using the Mini Christmas Bits on her page for pops of festive sparkle. She created her Mouse focal point using the Snowy Mouse Cutting Die.

Thanks for stopping by and helping us celebrate Christmas in July! Now crank up those holiday tunes, pour another glass of lemonade and kick up those flip flops!

Have a magical day!
